B. Michael Poustovoi, CFA, Heartland's International Research Analyst, started his buy side career in 2001 covering global markets with a particular focus on Japan as part of the EAFE Value fund team at STRS Ohio. In 2004 he joined L-R Global LLP, a NYC-based global value fund with an emphasis in emerging markets. While at L-R Global, Michael was deeply involved in covering both developed and emerging markets with an emphasis in Asia and the former Soviet Republic region. In 2008, Michael joined a London-based family office where he helped manage a global equity portfolio until he became part of the Heartland team in January 2011. Michael has diverse, hands-on experience with global markets through his personal and professional experiences of having lived and worked in the markets he covered. Prior to joining the buy side, Michael spent several years as an associate analyst on an all star media research team with Morgan Keegan. Michael received an MBA in Finance and International Business from Oklahoma City University (OCU) in 1996 and obtained his CFA charter in 2003. Michael is fluent in Russian and Ukrainian. He is married and has two young daughters.
